[QLD] PFA Christmas Party - Saturday 5th December 12pm - Brisbane German Club

Recommended Posts

So air conditioning and pork knuckle/beer has won out in the 'where to have it' stakes:

When: Saturday 5th December 2015 from 12pm (After Cars & Coffee Brisbane)
Where: Zum Kaiser Restaurant
Brisbane German Club 416 Vulture Street Woolloongabba
Who: PFA Members and/or their partners
Notes: The restaurant is 'cash only' but there is an ATM onsite
There is parking beside the club, but sometimes is busy - Otherwise the surrounding streets are a quick walk
A few of the PFA fraternity are German Club members, If you need to be signed in we'll have someone waiting at the sign in desk

We mostly brought partners last year and had a great time, so come along and put some faces to names and look back on the year that was.

PS. I'll be making snide remarks if you don't bring your Porsche (unless you've recently sold it in which case you're excused).

November is a tad early IMO but things to get crazy quickly.

has anyone canvassed the idea of meeting in a public park and sticking to a German theme?  BBQ some German sausages, BYO German beer. Maybe some sauerkraut and sourdough buns and perhaps even a Riesling? Couple of picnic chairs and maybe even one of those tent things every seems to have these days.  Preferably somewhere where said vehicles could be parked close to what is going on.  Just a thought I see people doing things like this in my local park all the time and it always looks casual and fun and doesn't involve restaurants and large table bookings.

failing that there is always one of the steak joints around town which take bigger numbers more easily.

We could do this at the December Cars and Coffee-I could bring my other classic car with BBQ. chairs, table and awning but would this upset the cafe owner?

I've made a booking for 16 (based on last year's numbers) at the German Club for 12.00 pm Saturday 5 Dec 2015 (conveniently close and after the C&C).  This is temp so can cancel if we choose some other option. Nice to have options.

And it's airconditioned :-b

  • 3 weeks later...

I will be there alone, Unfortunately Bernadette will be away trekking in Nepal feasting on lentils and dhal (yum-not)

I have also extended the invite to John Harris and he would like to join us.

Dal
Food
Dal or Dhal is a dried pulse which has been split. The outer hull is usually stripped off; dal that has not been hulled is described as chilka, e.g. chilka urad dal, mung dal chilka.
