After waiting almost 2 weeks i picked up the Darwin Targa today from the transport depo in Melbourne, its way better than i expected :D

Drove it about 45 km no problems at all, engine is strong, gears shift smoothly

Ill have to tidy up a few small things but over all its an excellent car.

These targa's are getting popular B)

Bringing it out on Saturday to the DakDak caff ? I can feel a targa group photo coming on :D

That would be a good idea but the reg runs out on Friday... If i come down ill bring my 80 SC Sporto that is up for sale  http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-1980/SSE-AD-3633509

What a lovely car. Sight unseen ain't too bad sometimes B)

Thanks, but i still wouldn't recommend buying sight unseen...

  • 2 weeks later...

Update on the Darwin Targa... Someone is smiling :D

I spent all day looking under & over her, well to my surprise & total joy it turns out she has been almost totally restored:D I'm talking everything new & painted all new rubber components on suspension, new disks & pads, callipers rebuilt, 3.2 oil cooler, DP motorsport exhaust.. very clean

The interior is clean apart from the dash top that had some vinyl stuck to it to hide some huge cracks:o ill get the dash restored. The front seats have beed re-trimmed well but the colour is not the same as the rear seats, new targa roof vinyl & head liner, all other interior is just perfect.

She came with all her original equipment like cookie cutter wheels, trombone oil cooler, AC parts, & original exhaust

Wont take much to get her back to totally original...

One issue she has is the wipers return to the left side at rest but she has RHD wiper arms? looks odd any one know if you can change the wiper stroke to rest on the right side?

Thanks Harvs ill have a crack at it... I'm definitely no stranger to working on 911's

That is one excellent buy if it's almost all restored! You've definitely lucked out there.
