HELMET HEAD

I need to buy a helmet for In car and wondered what peoples experiences are Stilho or other brands,  Stilho seem to be the bomb but interested what you thought ??

I also had another question and wondered if anyone knew.

I have good quality motorcycle helmets and but  im always bemused why I pay twice the price for helmets in Australia that I can buy overseas same spec for half the price but they are just  lacking that little Australian Standards Sticker..

Aplication of that sticker although testing is done here is a bloody expensive exercise.

Furthermore does anyone know if CAMS or any other motor sport ascoaiation required you to have a AUS standards sticker.

Furthermore as they seem pedantic to what you can wear on your head on the road , I wondered does anyone have a car helmet that has a AUS standards sticker on it period of any brand, as I may even double up with my open face car helmet being used on my scooter?

Lastly in keeping with my post totle - If you have a recomendation how not to mess my hair up whilst weraing a helmet other than shaving it .I would love your input ;)  I thought that migh entice some the girls on the forum to join this thread..

CAMS don't require the AUS standards sticker so long as the helmut is FIA standard & in date (must have the FIA label attached) its dependent on the sup regs for the event also

If you want a helmut for the road it must have the AUS standards sticker on it

My 2 cents

CAMS Manual schedule D details the various levels of helmet standards required for different types of CAMS sanctioned motorsport events.  Clubs and organizers will also specify which level helmets are required in their supplementary regs. for each event, usually referring the schedule D.

Club events require minimum B category helmets which includes AS1698.  AS1698 is not mandatory, but just one of the options. Read the fine print carefully to fully understand it.  Not all shops who sell helmets nor scrutineers know the rules properly.

I hadnt tried Arai before I scored a sponsorship from them, and the rep sent me 2 lids in Medium size, as thats the size I told him I had used with Shoei and any other helmet before. The Arai's were a weird fit, so I went to a shop to try other sizes on. Nup, either way too tight or too loose. Shoei is perfect, and the quick detach visor system is brilliant
