CarreraG50 Posted 23October, 2015 Report Share Posted 23October, 2015 Okay I'll try to keep this short, Facts first, my car is an Aussie delivered (John Newell) 87 Carrera 3.2 G50.When I bought it, already fitted was a SONY(I think) stereo, IPHONE compatible(not the new ones), which is why the PO fitted it.I assumed the standard Radio Cassette fitted was the Eurovox MCC2358P and have been on the look outfor one.(missed one here today which is what got me thinking)On the off chance I emailed the PO (he is still a PORSCHE owner and we keep in (sporadic) contact) if he knewwhat happened to the original radio. His reply I think its in the shed, I'll go for a look. Yep he still has it and will send itup. However its a Eurovox MCC 8280P I didn't think these were fitted to G series cars. Can anybody shed any lightif these were original fitament to G series cars. Look forward to your comments. Thanks
smule Posted 23October, 2015 Report Share Posted 23October, 2015 All these Eurovox units where dealer fitted by local Australian dealers. I have seen the 8280 fitted in 88 89 G bodies and early 964's, so you're definitely on the right path.

Dreamr Posted 24October, 2015 Report Share Posted 24October, 2015 It seems to me that there were a couple of different models / specs fitted the the old air cooled cars ....As they were dealer fitted and not factory, maybe the differences in fitment were due to stock levels / availability at delivery time ....It seem unanimous though that they were all Eurovox ... just slightly different models.I'm pretty sure the one I just bought from another member isn't the right one for my car ... but I'm more than happy with it as it's "period" correct and was obviously standard fitment to Porsche's from the era ....
