Love the interior, especially the dash with woodgrain Great cars I have had 3 of them (250 S), not a fan of "bagging" them but each to their own Cheap as chips too!Go for one of these, airbags as standard (although for different reasons) and 6.3 litre V8!Not so cheap... 300 SEL 6.
LeeM Posted 17November, 2015 Report Share Posted 17November, 2015 Matey only paid $5500 for it, and in very good nick. I've always liked the style of them, especially another guy I know who has a black 'Finny'. Thats on bags too I'm not a big fan of airbags, yet each to their own. Cool cars anyway

tazzieman Posted 18November, 2015 Report Share Posted 18November, 2015 I'm a bit obsessed with a mates recent purchase. 1970 Merc S on airbags. Such a cool thing. Love the interior, especially the dash with woodgrain I'm 2/3 of the way through stripping , restaining and varnishing mine. I'm afraid modern plastic and carbon fibre are a bit sterile for me. You wouldn't have them in your lounge room would you?Oh yeah , the slammed look is for some , but once you mess with the factory suspension / tyres it's never going to handle properly. But some are in it for the looks, I understand that plus the factory air suspension is bloody exxy to refurb.I'd have one of these , and be smug in the knowledge that no-one else in my neighbourhood had one or indeed had ever heard of one.
