SammyD Posted 30November, 2015 Report Share Posted 30November, 2015 Hi all,Long time viewer, first time posting.Looking at a daily driver, 997 4s. There is one at the Porsche Centre that I will go and have a look at.Just wondering if there are any shops that will do a thorough diagnostic, body and mechanical inspection for me in Canberra?? I have tried searching through the archives here but no luck.Or is State Roads and MTA my only options? Regards,Sam
tk111 Posted 30November, 2015 Report Share Posted 30November, 2015 You could try Autoinspect, they have just opened shop here doing pre inspections for Uber cars.I believe they started by doing thorough PPIs, ie: measure paint thickness looking for body repair etc. they are only 5mins away from the Porsche Centre Canberra.I am not talking from experience though, just read about them online.Otherwise it's pretty slim pickings really. All the good porsche trained mechs have retired or moved away. The last couple of times I drove through Queanbeyan both times I saw a bunch of Porsches outside Inline on Yass Road. Anyone know much about them?
tk111 Posted 30November, 2015 Report Share Posted 30November, 2015 Apparently a good Porsche mechanic. Just seems to have lots of work on so turnaround times tend to stretch out, by many reports. I have been told he doesn't want to do any air cooled work for the moment, but you shouldn't believe everything you hear?!

SammyD Posted 5January, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 5January, 2016 After driving a few 997 4S and 997 S cars both in manual and auto, I decided to go with the 997 S manual. Picked it up the other day!I know I wanted an auto for everyday driving but the manual S was very exciting. Loved how it performed.Im back after 13 years away. Now to add an Aircooled car to the garage to keep it company.
