tazzieman Posted 3January, 2016 Report Share Posted 3January, 2016 Been mooted for the past 3 years. Would do something for values of vintage 928s , for those that care about those things.

OzJustin Posted 3January, 2016 Report Share Posted 3January, 2016 I see some C7 Corvette in the render. Bring it on the front engine!
ANF Posted 3January, 2016 Report Share Posted 3January, 2016 The current 911 is already regarded by some (lots?) as a modern day "GT" car, apart from being rear engined it could be argued that it is the successor to the 928??Do Porsche need 2 "GT" type cars...If they do, make it look special and have some visual/ design cues link to the 928...... StevepGT3 Posted 3January, 2016 Report Share Posted 3January, 2016 It`s getting to be like Chinese food menus, way too much choice with marginal difference to your needs or enjoyment.

The 911s have been GTs for years now ; anyone who has gone around in a go kart of powered or unpowered type knows this.A modern 911 is neither small or light - no more than the average 2016 MY Australian, even though they may consider themselves "manoeuvrable"!A modern 911 is exactly what a 928 was back in the day - a GT/sporting car with an eye watering purchase price. Except it needs electronics to stop the back end coming around.A Cayman OTOH...
Raven Posted 3January, 2016 Report Share Posted 3January, 2016 I would have to agree with some of what tazzie is saying ,,,,in my eyes my 06 Carrera S is a high speed grand tourer and does the job at a very high standard .I am convinced this was what Porsche intention when they designed the car ,the grip levels of the 997 are very high and the car displays very little of the characteristics of the early 911,s ,you can comfortably drive modern 911,s at law breaking speeds with the ease and confidence you would expect from a modern day Porsche.....In saying this I would still love to see a modern version of the 928 or coupe version of the Panamera ,I think it would be a nice tribute to and iconic car they many of us love ..............
