81SC Posted 14February, 2016 Report Share Posted 14February, 2016 Gents,Need some help with a little project. I am building my own P201 engine stand yoke, I have acquired all the bits I need.I purchased an engine support ring some time ago from Sierra Madre & have sourced some 3/4" steam pipe spec pipe bends. What I need help with is the dimension on my photo below, any help is much appreciated. I'm trying to determine if the pipe bends I have will have sufficient length. I have an old engine stand that I will adapt these bits to. I have 5 of the pipe bends, even thou there are only 2 in the photo.

81SC Posted 14February, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 14February, 2016 110mm Thanks for that jnr356, looks like I have a little extra to play with. The pipe bends I have give a dimension of 130mm.
81SC Posted 1September, 2018 Author Report Share Posted 1September, 2018 Wow, how time flies. Finally made some more progress on the engine yoke. Will be needing it shortly. Modified the engine support ring to clear the exhaust crossover pipe, 4th photo shows where the extra clearance was needed & ground out as required. Total cost so far - engine support ring $88 US, 2 1/2 years ago. - 5 x 3/4" 90° steam pipe bends $22.50. - 2"- 3" schedule 40 buttweld adaptor $8. - piece of 2" thick wall pipe, found in scrap bin at work. ruby82sc Posted 1September, 2018 Report Share Posted 1September, 2018 Nice work Brett, I recently bought the same engine ring and considered doing the same as you but took the easy option and bought an adjustable stand from Hare and Forbes but built a heavy duty base. Greg Thanks Greg, Do you have a photo of what you have done. I'm interested in the approach you have taken, it might also help others as well. Brett Hi Brett, I have 10 thumbs when it comes to uploading photos on the forum but happy to email you if you like, it was started a couple of months ago but interrupted by 5 weeks in Europe. I am at the stage of making the pivot to weld to the top of the stand, I have a couple of non Porsche related projects on the go so having trouble getting back to the engine stand unfortunately.
