Narrow Body, Wide Body wheel options and sizes!

Hi guys,

I've been really itching lately to get a new set of wheels to fill the guards perfectly.

Car is a 964 C4, with a 993 Turbo S kit. So a Widebody NB.

I know there are a few Widebody NB out there, what wheels are you running and at what size and offset?

Thanks in advance for your help! My last resort is ordering SSR or Work wheels at the desired sizes. I'm currently leaning towards building a set of 3 piece wheels. Just have to find the right wheel/design and at 5x130!

Car is in Brisbane and if there's anyone local that has wheels in sizes that would suit, I'd love to try them on to gauge what size and offset I need or even a starting point to push it further or not :)

Feel free to post up photos of other cars around the world :) would love some inspiration

Thanks. I understand how offset works.

Just wanting to see what options I have, to perhaps get a good base off and then tinker with the measurements for the desired fitment.

Also to see what other Widebody NB owners run :)

Went through the same process but for wide bodied G series. Having some rims to actually test fit would have been nice :)  but ended up doing some very careful measuring off the wheels I had and taking a punt on offset. As far as manufacturers that will do a custom rim in a 5 x 130 you can try SSR, CCW and Forgeline that I know of. I don't believe Work do that stud pattern in their custom range.

I did some forgeline custom wheels on a previous car and they were able to email me a sectional drawing of the rim so I could use CAD (cardbord aided design) to make a full scale template and sit it on the hub face and get a feel for inner and outer lip positions. But I think having a wheel of known offset and size on the car and having the car on the ground on those wheels is a much better starting point for making calculations.

Thanks TE911.

If I'm reading correctly, the front of a 993/964 Widebody is no wider than a narrow body. At best a 18x8 +52 only? Yikes. Is that right?

However I do like the sound of a 18x12 with a 335 tyre. (I already have one of those laying around but at 5x114.3).

Great info in regards to options of wheels.

How different is a Widebody G series? What size wheels did you end up with and how was fitment in the end?

I do believe work are able to customize a 5x130, it is in their specification and size list if I recall correctly.

I am trying to find some wheels to work off, ones that a labeled or stamped. My current wheels give me false readings when I do the measurements haha.

Cant comment on the difference in available real estate for wheels between a wide bodied G series and what you have. But I was told the front fibreglass guards were mouIded off a 993 turbo and were a direct bolt on to my chassis. The rear is a glassed on guard as opposed to steel so no guarantee it is dimensionally perfect to say a steel turbo body. I finished up with 18 x 9 up front (-7 offset) and 18 x 11 at the rear - 32. Is a really nice fit. Fits very close to flush with the guards but have avoided any rubbing issues.

Work do the brombacher in a porsche fitment (5 x 130) with a reasonable amount of offset options. Just not full custom offset.

The coilovers take up a lot more real estate behind the wheels than torsion bars do.  So you'll get less dish than a torsion bar car if that's your goal.

Hard to comment on your fitment as it's a custom body.

I'd be looking CCW, rotiform, fifteen52, HRE and Work for custom offsets. BBS is also obvious but expensive (so are HRE).

Apparently CCW are very helpful over phone and email for fitment advice.

I've also heard good things about this crew for work wheels:
