tomo Posted 23February, 2016 Report Share Posted 23February, 2016 Forget Longhoods, now 964 are being backdated 356 style!Emory on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EmoryMotorsports/3D scanning 356 and 964 Quote:Detail shots of the #356C4S chassis merge. We 3D scanned the 964 suspension points, tunnel, rear seat area etc and then scanned the 356 chassis to determine merge zones. Under the front hood the only giveaway will be the strut towers poking through the inner sidewalls. Once both body's were cut and the 964 was shortened myself and @cowboydanger started the sheet metal blending between bodies. Now we have a fairly seamless integration that once finished off will be hard to determine what has been done. And no... The blue tie downs aren't permanent. Note the 2.6L 4cyl 911 engine, G64 Trans and 996TT front diff will blend for a unique 356 power plants. Quote:Not your typical 356 belly... Today we got the mock up engine and trans back in after all the suspension and chassis merging was completed. 356 + 964C4 + 996tt = #356C4S Wrap up the rear engine mounts the next couple days and then it's time to build the roll cage and finish off exterior body.__________________
Airhead Posted 23February, 2016 Report Share Posted 23February, 2016 I like the Emory Outlaws but I'm thinking that's a waste of 2 good cars.

LeeM Posted 24February, 2016 Report Share Posted 24February, 2016 A very clever man, talent in abundance, one of the best in the world and has built some incredibly stunning cars, including the resto of an original Porsche race car entrusted to him by Porsche, but its a no from me on this one
Okrasa Kid Posted 24February, 2016 Report Share Posted 24February, 2016 The Kid - Luv's it!I've seen some of Emory's workmanship when I lived in the states. These guys are modern artisans - subtle factory like conversions sans bling!.............. and they don't usually butcher sound vehicles either. As for the POLO motor Dean has been refining this conversion over many years - lovely piece of kit but expensive that's why many go down the VW Type 4 route with for example one of Jake Raby's offerings http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/
