Detail shots of the ‪#‎356C4S‬ chassis merge. We 3D scanned the 964 suspension points, tunnel, rear seat area etc and then scanned the 356 chassis to determine merge zones. Under the front hood the only giveaway will be the strut towers poking through the inner sidewalls. Once both body's were cut and the 964 was shortened myself and @cowboydanger started the sheet metal blending between bodies. Now we have a fairly seamless integration that once finished off will be hard to determine what has been done. And no... The blue tie downs aren't permanent. Note the 2.6L 4cyl 911 engine, G64 Trans and 996TT front diff will blend for a unique 356 power plants.

Not your typical 356 belly... Today we got the mock up engine and trans back in after all the suspension and chassis merging was completed. 356 + 964C4 + 996tt = #356C4S Wrap up the rear engine mounts the next couple days and then it's time to build the roll cage and finish off exterior body.

Wow.

left hand front tyre is on back to front tho!

How did they build the 4 cyl engine?  Just cut the case down, and new crank, camshaft, intake manifold etcetcetc.

why not just shoehorn a 6 in?

Good spotting on the tyre.

Cut 6s have been around for a while. Dean Polopolus has been building them in the US http://www.pompolodesign.com/912-polo-specs.html

A very clever man, talent in abundance, one of the best in the world and has built some incredibly stunning cars, including the resto of an original Porsche race car entrusted to him by Porsche, but its a no from me on this one

The Kid - Luv's it!

I've seen some of Emory's workmanship when I lived in the states.

These guys are modern artisans  - subtle factory like conversions sans bling!

.............. and they don't usually butcher sound vehicles either.

As for the POLO motor Dean has been refining this conversion over many years -  lovely piece of kit but expensive that's why many go down the  VW Type 4 route with for example one of Jake Raby's offerings

  • 2 weeks later...

Just stepped out of his workshop after 2.5 hours and  turning up unannounced.

Saw the 364 hybrid - all very subtle detailed

had a close up look over the THE first porsche to ever win - all alloy bodied , chassis # 63 Le Mans car.

Hot rod his grandpap started and now finishing  for his dad

cut shut Abarth inspired hard top coupe with trailer hitch and the prototype ploplopolus motor....

The 'new'ohc 4cyl they've developed with some partners

And a bit more
