Would have loved it if it was still Air /Oil cooled There is enough water cooled fast cars about already ;)

You can still buy old Ruf cars.

The fast cars are a bit , well , overdone. Even the autobahns are speed limited for the most part. Which track would you take it to? Who would?

But these bespoke cars help fill the void for the "mine's bigger than yours" gent ;)

Good luck getting past the Priuses on the Nurburgring I reckon.

Is there an AC/DC plaque on the back Harvs?

Proper sewing machine that one. Not one of these new fangled thermomix types.

I guess tazzie you'd consider my sewing machine a gt3 then...with PDK, PASM, PSM, PDCC, PCM, ETC!

AC-DC?  Sure is.  I never noticed that before.

That's about as high tech as this one gets.  It's built for straight lines and the occasional curves. Just how I like 'em.   I believe it will still be running well after we're all off this rock, not like the modern stuff.

That must be one of them moderen ones full of lectronomics n stuff.  I still got the analog version with a CIS (Crank It System).  No fancy stuff and you can work on it yourself

C'mon Trev , this is how it's done by real sailors

rope-eye-splice.jpg

Believe me it's harder than it looks. It'll turn anyone AC/DC for hours on end.

3 strand...easy!  And this is how it's done by real arborists....in 24 strand cover over 16 strand core doublebraid rope!

Hand splicing is an art we practice daily ;)  Easy when you know how.  This rope takes about 30 mins.

Like most things! Even surgery isn't rocket science. A good eye , steady hand and ability to avoid stuff ups are admirable qualities.

So you do or don't use electronic sewing machines?

Splicing mooring ropes is more my experience. Like working on your own brakes , there are consequences for doing a poor job.

Now back to the Singer :D For those that don't know (and you should , being Aussies) ,  the singer of AC/DCs guitarist's sister named the band after spotting the moniker on the back of the machine she was sewing Angus' school uniform on.

This forum isn't just about avarice & lust you know.
