mark evans Posted 15March, 2016 Report Share Posted 15March, 2016 I have found these two lovely white 911's on the Duttons website.http://duttongarage.com/Porsche-911-T-2-0~12456http://duttongarage.com/Porsche-911-E-Sportomatic~11572What would be the current values of these 1969 911's - both "fully restored"? cheers
turboT Posted 16March, 2016 Report Share Posted 16March, 2016 They told me last week they had just sold a 72 for $320k. Some would say less/more desirable than a 69. best to call them and see what they want but they are always likely to be the top end of any valuation. spiller Posted 17March, 2016 Report Share Posted 17March, 2016 Gotta be $200k+ - Best to get them over the phone or email their enquiries email address.I don't know what your experience has been like with them but they have never responded to any of my email enquiries about cars. Perhaps they could see I was a tyre kicker through the fibre optic.
mark evans Posted 18March, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 They are nice friendly people, especially John and jeff (dutton). Happy to let you drive anything ( well maybe not the gullwing) and get any pre-purchase inspect you want. Not pushy sales people.
ELSPORTO Posted 18March, 2016 Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 They want $350 for the sporto S.Mark what was the sporto E like?
mark evans Posted 18March, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 It's a very nice car. I really couldn't fault anything but then again I am more a mercedes man (at this stage!)Its had a full "nut & bolt" bare metal rotisserie restoration, finished in Sept 2015.A full engine strip down & rebuild by one of the best porsche engine guy's (based in Geelong). Every moving engine part replaced or restored - I recall them saying around $9,000 worth of new engine parts and approx 145 hours work on the engine.Full rebuild of transmission, new seat covers & carpets as per datacard, original dash and instruments kept, full paint obviously. All new rubbers, seals, re-chroming & new window trim all round etc.Fuchs fully refurbished ($6,000 - is that a lot?) & new 185 tyres,There was minor rust in sills but both sills (inner & outer) replaced. 1 door skin replaced. That's what I can remember
ByronBayChris Posted 18March, 2016 Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 I'm a cynic. $9000 parts is not that high.145 hours can be an indication of a slow worker. Not necessarily a good one.Who is this "best" engine builder in Geelong? I've not heard them mentioned before.$350,000 is a lot of coin.
mark evans Posted 18March, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 No. The restoration information I refer to is in relation to the 911E sporto will asking of $200k.Re: engine parts - I could have mis-heard - maybe they said $19k - anyway they have a complete set of receipts. The engine guy was Ian......can't remember his last name.....but they said he is an older guy, in semi retirement, that is well known in Porsche circles for engine repairs in Melb for past 40 years.BTW - they told me they sold 2 x 901's this week - a tangerine 1972 2.4E, a UK import with the side oil filler, in beautiful condition (they said for $340k) & a white unrestored1969 911T - the paint looked a little worse for wear but seemed quite original - for $140k, both on their website. LeeM Posted 18March, 2016 Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 $6000 to refurb Fuchs? What the? 'Is that a lot' is an understatement!
D-banger Posted 18March, 2016 Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 $6000 to refurb Fuchs? What the? 'Is that a lot' is an understatementThat is the going rate. Driver condition around $800 each. When you factor in sending wheels to Harvey Weidman (US) you can easily see the $6k.
LeeM Posted 18March, 2016 Report Share Posted 18March, 2016 Not wanting to be an argumentative prat here, but why would one send wheels to be painted in the US when someone here could do it? I'm sure there would be a good painter in every state who could do it for half the price. Infact, I know someone in Victoria that does do it. Crikey, even at $4000 locally, which is still ludicrous, you're still in front $2000!
