Jason E Posted 13April, 2016 Report Share Posted 13April, 2016 Has any one had any recent or semi recent experience transporting a car from Darwin to Brisbane? Any winning advice would be greatly appreciated.cheers,Jason
Pork Chops Posted 14April, 2016 Report Share Posted 14April, 2016 I've transported from Qld to Vic and sold a car that got picked up today Vic to NSW. CEVA used both times. all works well but they don't like anything being in the car. No boxes spares etc. They just demanded I take everything out of the boot before they loaded the car. Try CEVA and see how you go.

Jason E Posted 14April, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 14April, 2016 Just rang CEVA. They stated that the car has less than 13cm ground clearance & as such would need to go on their enclosed car carrier. The quoted price was $4400.00. That sure adds an impost on the purchase price. Pork Chops Posted 14April, 2016 Report Share Posted 14April, 2016 Yeah, don't tell them it's low. Is it lower than 13cm? My 911 SC which is a tad lowered got down from Qld no issues with height. From memory they all have that sort of rule.
SteveS1 Posted 14April, 2016 Report Share Posted 14April, 2016 I transported Melbourne to Brisbane, and after reading a few forums threads got a bit put off by CEVA (circa $850) and had spare wheels to transport in the car, so went to another mob (Utrans) that was recommended, could take a low car, and spares, and cost a bit more $1350. The car got banged in transport and spent 2 months in repair (mainly waiting on parts). Sh*t happens but they were a bit 'whatever' about the incident. I was also told to try www.uniquecarcarriers.com.au but they were $2266 and I thought was unnecessary extra cost for a <$60k porsche.Anyway I'm glad I got insurance before hand. I had shannons and they looked after it.Oh, car was super low.Best of luck. Steve

Negotiations have stalled somewhat, I think we're both waiting to see who'll blink first. I do enjoy the chase.
