eoghanroe Posted 15April, 2016 Report Share Posted 15April, 2016 Hi all,Looking to lower the front of my car a bit, nothing crazy, just want to get even arch gap with the rear. There is already updated suspension fitted so the T-bar route should be okay? Who's the best to talk to about this in Melbourne? Thanks in advance. michel Posted 15April, 2016 Report Share Posted 15April, 2016 Howdy, not hard at all to lower and is a do at home job.
eoghanroe Posted 15April, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 15April, 2016 Oh really? Even for those of us who aren't mechanic inclined? What about geometry etc? I don't want to ruin the ride for the sake of aesthetics.
michel Posted 15April, 2016 Report Share Posted 15April, 2016 Internet is your friend "adjust 911 ride height"and or look in the manual or 101 projects. Have a read, good to understand some of this stuff and if still not sure maybe ask some guys here to do a DIY session on your car? Just throw on a few sausages and a beer and I'm sure you'll get hopefully skilled help As for shops in Melbourne plenty of porsche workshops who will make a recommendation on a good suspension shop, if not do it themselves .a starter http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/101_Projects_Porsche_911/55-Lowering_the_911/55-Lowering_the_911.htmhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/546166-911-sc-lowered-ride-height-pics-measurements-please.htmlhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/844850-help-adjusting-ride-height.html
Stew F Posted 16April, 2016 Report Share Posted 16April, 2016 It really is easy. Half an hour and it's done. Just remember that after you lower it you'll have to get a wheel alignment done.

eoghanroe Posted 17April, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 17April, 2016 Thanks for the advice and the links. I've had a read and consulted the Haynes manual.Seems very straight forward but unfortunately living in an apartment and parking in a multi-story makes simple DIY jobs far more of a mission. Ideally I'd be looking to get it lowered and the alignment done at the same time.If somebody was able to help me out I'm more than willing to pay beer tokens and I'm great at shining torches, searching for the right socket etc.

BlitzKonig Posted 18April, 2016 Report Share Posted 18April, 2016 Also, heads up, do the height adjustment with a full tank of fuel. Have learnt this from experience Below is my current ride height. Measured it yesterday as I was playing around with suspension travel. 25" Front 25.5" Rear (this is measured from ground to top of wheel arches. eoghanroe Posted 21April, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 21April, 2016 Sorry, for the slow reply.I'm in South Melbourne, Hugh. Not looking for anything quite as aggressive as that Blitz, even though I'd love to...I did a quick Photoshop of what I'm thinking, just uniform arch-gap and a slight rake. michel Posted 22April, 2016 Report Share Posted 22April, 2016 Looks like you could dig a bit harder and find the inner ricer that lives within . But I like it a tad lower
eoghanroe Posted 22April, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 22April, 2016 Don't encourage me! My past consists of road marker-rubbing splitters and arch-fouling wheels.I have to go down a rather steep ramp to park but that said, it could be a little lower...
