tazzieman Posted 5May, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 5May, 2016 What else do you do with a shovel but ...... look ultra cool .....I just reckon there should be a lot more of this sort of thing. Somewhat imperious, yet not self absorbed by her status. She'd make a good president or PM.

tazzieman Posted 5May, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 5May, 2016 or gravedigger .....Only pollies wear those safety helmets Several times a year I have a beer with the guy who was driving the Monaro with his wife and daughter when the Tasman Bridge was hit by that ship in 1975 . (I remember hearing the deep thunk ; I was doing some astronomy with the bedroom window open , about 5km away from the bridge). Anyway , it's a metallic green Monaro , Frank says proudly it still has the original tyres and that he's knocked back offers of around 200k. He has 40 years of good extra life.btw the auto trans stopped it from sliding over...

tazzieman Posted 5May, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 5May, 2016 So they are good for somethingIndeed , so my mates who live in heavy traffic tell me!The manual box is all but dead. The operator it seems is deemed too inefficient for the cleverness of the engine.

We lived on the eastern shore so were quite hard hit by the "separation". Not as much as those who lost there life......Interesting fact, the ship still sits at the base of the bridge and is closely monitored for movement with sensors and divers, apparently too dangerous to move it. If you look at a side view of our bridge you will see one longer (and thicker) span, that be where the ship is.....

Getting out of the back must have been scary.I would have been tempted to smash out the back windowThe car was teetering. His door was jammed by the roadway. Being a coupe the back seat passenger had to clamber forward and out his wife's door. After she had left. Then he departed the same way. btw He almost ignored his wife's comments to "slow down , the lights on the bridge are out"...Shades of the "Italian Job" final scene. The winning solution to that conundrum, but in reverse.
