Planning on taking the GT3 to the Driver Dynamics Track Day at Sandown on Saturday 26 November 2016. Would be great to have a big P-car contingent. Drivers of all standards welcome and instructors provided as part of the day by DD if required.

No CAMS license or scrutineering required. It is fundamentally a 'training day' and hence no CAMS. However in practice they break you into 3 groups based on capability and you get 20 mins per hour driving as you like. There are instructors available free if you want some tips. Mainly a great day with as much driving as you want.

I'd love to however I've entered in the Geelong Revival, unfortunately it's on the same weekend..........

I did one of their days the other month and found it to be generally pretty well run. Lower no. of entrants so smaller groups on the track, less traffic = clearer runs. I did have a close call with a skyline, way too overpowered with a way under experienced driver + very wet track...............<_<

These days operate as a very 'everyone needs to look after one another on track' mantra as they offer no scrutineering (your responsibility to ensure your car is track ready), no anticipated lap times (your responsibility to determine your experience/group) and minimal marshals so warnings and drivers conduct monitoring is limited. That said I'd do another of their days, the instructors were quite good (I took one out with me on most sessions, they all have something different to offer) and this is something that I would strongly encourage.

Anyone thinking about it should give it a shot, it's a great track and may not be around forever!

I was contemplating Bathurst that weekend:

but too much going on to get there this year unfortunately.  But I reckon I can sneak up to Sandown instead.  Mazda not Porsche though.  I'll enjoy buzzing GT3s in the RX7.......

i did the last DD event with Hugh and it's pretty relaxed but you do tend to get more peanuts at these events than at proper CAMS/club events.

I'll be at Bathurst - so I can't make it sadly.

We actually have quite a few P Cars going to Bathurst including 5 of us with GT4's and Teutonic is bringing his RSR replica hotrod over from Perth.

But for the fact that I'll be at PI racing in Island Magic in the 11 Cup Car .....

Sounds like it would have been fun but I'll console myself with holding it flat from Siberia to Lukey Heights whilst plucking gears and growing 'nads.

DD replied today to say they are full but they expect cancellations and will let me know during the week.  If anyone is cancelling, give me a heads up and I'll jump in.  Just me now so only 1 spot needed.

Go on. I dare ya!

Already done. Will bring a motec data log to show it. Liberating stuff but still need a couple of Hail Mary's before each session to get through!!!

If you're down that way, come in and say hi. We're car 91 - white 2011 Cup Car. Depending on the time of day, there may be beer ....

it's an awesome track. My previous PB around there was a 1.35.8 in my 06 Cup Car. Testing about 7 weeks ago there we did a green tyre run over 6 laps and I posted a 1.33.4.  You might all recall the Brabham fan car that sucked the car to the track.  I reckon my sphincter was doing a fair impersonation of the same thing that day!!

1:33 that's quick.  Most track days I've done see very few if any cars get under 1:40 let alone 1:35.  Nice work.  Would love to see video of flat out from Siberia to Lukey Heights.  I've drifted waaaaaay left through hayshed at 200 ish a few times trying to stay on it.  Being half a tyre off the grass at that speed with a fair bit of lateral loading certainly gets your attention (and sphincter tightening)
