Flag Mirror Flucked

So...

Cairns have my SC with a list of small things that need a remedy.  Among them is the passenger side door mirror won't adjust in enough. Thing is when you sit in the passenger seat its range of adjustment is perfect, leading us to believe that perhaps it's a left hand door mirror, for a left hand drive car. The car may not have had a mirror at all from the factory, or at least it wasn't power assisted as there is no wiring in the door for it. Who knows.  Given its just been painted and covered in 3M film I'm not loving the idea of replacing the mirror and driving without it is a pain. See the below from the PET. So any ideas what is causing this, or more importantly what a remedy might be? See below, it could be 6B that is different from a LHD to RHD car...

Any ideas gratefully received. Also if anyone has a passenger side mirror that is spare perhaps I can pull it apart and grab the bits that matter to me.  So let me know whatcha got.

Thanks in advance.

From the Pelican thread I have running in parallel with this one, it's quite possible it didn't have a passenger side mirror from factory and it was installed incorrectly aftermarket using a LHD template. The car is a UK delivered factory RHD.

Yes, that's my bet and what I was trying to articulate, albeit poorly above

Many SC's didn't have a LHS mirror if they were RHD. I have a RHD power mirror you can have (gratis) to see if that has the parts you need to get you out of trouble.

Porkchops,

6B on the PET is different for LHD & RHD cars. In the remarks column, /RL/L means left side of a RHD car & /RL/R means right side of a RHD car.

Thanks for all the feedback. In the below images you can see (on the drivers side of my RHD car) the difference in the profile of the mirror base on my car versus the part being held under it. The black part has a profile that is quite different to that on the car and we know the black piece is correct. Also from the photos below you can see my passenger mirror (LHS) is located more rearward, so with any luck it's in the right location, but on the wrong base.

So it would appear that both my mirrors are on the incorrect bases as though the driver side can be made to work it's on it's most inner adjustment for me which clearly isn't right. That being the case it should only the bases that need paint and that's OK as I've still got a flat engine lid being sprayed shortly as part of the main job and we'll get these pieces done at the same time.

With luck.
