ANF Posted 28August, 2016 Report Share Posted 28August, 2016 Porsche have released (march this year) a list of N rated tyres for classic Porsche cars. The list looks comprehensive and also appears to be a copy of what other countries have.... only problem now would be where you can buy them.... assuming (maybe wrongly!) that Porsche has provided this info on their website, they can supply of know where you can get......!!http://www.porsche.com/australia/accessoriesandservice/classic/tyreapproval/
Mike D'Silva Posted 29August, 2016 Report Share Posted 29August, 2016 why do we need them to be n spec?
Peter M Posted 29August, 2016 Report Share Posted 29August, 2016 why do we need them to be n spec? You don't. It just gives peace of mind that they have been tested by Porsche and certified as satisfactory.
ANF Posted 29August, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 29August, 2016 Not really my point. I know tyres for older Porsche (or any car really) can be hard to get hold of (sizes), this list as given out by Porsche Australia must mean that these size tyres are available or they can get. Otherwise it make them look very silly!
MFX Posted 29August, 2016 Report Share Posted 29August, 2016 They do list Bridgestone RE71 for 17x8 and 17x10 (which is what I am getting tyres for at the moment). I have managed to get Falken 453 (I think that is the model number), which is more of a performance tyre, in the same sizes. I had to order them in, but at least they are available. Good too know there are some other options available if I need more.
