Bluboy007 Posted 13September, 2016 Report Share Posted 13September, 2016 I have been getting what feels like wheel locking under heavy braking. I'm not sue wether this is just the way the ABS works or wether there is a fault, any ideas.
StevepGT3 Posted 13September, 2016 Report Share Posted 13September, 2016 Sounds normal, mine did it as well.
D-banger Posted 14September, 2016 Report Share Posted 14September, 2016 If its a shudder through the brake pedal, then I learnt from @StevepGT3 that this is normal.

Aircooled Junkie Posted 14September, 2016 Report Share Posted 14September, 2016 A badly warped disc will bring on the same effect.
SimonN Posted 14September, 2016 Report Share Posted 14September, 2016 A badly warped disc will bring on the same effect.Sorry to pick on you but you have hit one of my big soap box items. There is no such thing as warped discs! Well, technically it is possible to warp a disc if you fit it incorrectly, but a properly fitted disc will not warp. I have tested and measured literally 100's of discs and viewed some under microscope when I was heavily involved with the Mitsubishi Evo scene in the UK, because they used to suffer really badly. From lots of research and testing, I can say that not one single case of "warped discs' was the disc warping. I could write an essay, but the best description can be found. The "Warped" Brake Disc and Other Myths of the Braking SystemIn short, the vibration is caused by uneven deposits of brake material on the disc. The more porous the particular disc material (the number of fission's in the surface), the worse the potential problem. There are 2 solutions. You either have to go with better discs or harsher pads. The worst discs I have seen all came form Brembo who did all Evo brakes. You cannot cure the problem by skimming the disc, because the deposits go into the fission's in the disc and the material simply sticks to that after a short period.I the case of this 993, I suspect that if it has standard Porsche discs and pads, it is unlikely to be this problem, because it isn't a known problem for Porsches (another reason to love the cars!)
