924 and 924 turbo market watch - oz market

Recommended Posts

My 924 turbo was my only car for a couple of years. If the car is sorted they aren't difficult to drive, where you feel it is things like air conditioning, cruise control and all the mod cons that make modern cars... modern.

Well, not *that* modern. My 1990 944 S2 has a/c, cruise, abs. What it doesn't have is things like airbags, electronic stability control, iphone connectivity, integrated GPS, reversing camera, etc.

While I admit I would miss the a/c, cruise and abs, do I miss airbags, electronic stability control, iphone connectivity, integrated GPS, reversing camera etc?

Not in the slightest.

"Peak car" was 1990.

A 944 also could make a good dd.. a later series 944 would have great A/C and would feel lots more modern than a 924. I agree with plugger, there are some mod cons that matter... others i'm less concerned about.

Has anyone driven a 944 and a 928 over roughish country roads... is there a significant difference is ride quality?

this is fukn ridiculous ...

whats wrong with this ??? not enough people laying FM to gets less buggy forum.

What's wrong with the Gosford 924 ... tired no service records and unlikely anything seriously done to sort the issues by the current custodian.... its brown though ??

On other hand makes the 39k silver eunuch reasonably priced

I still like the Gosford one, sure it needs some work however if you were looking for a cheap turbo it seems like fair buying to me. That said, I haven't seen it in the flesh nor know any of its history (or lack of). I'm also a little confused at where 924 turbos are priced at currently, especially as the ones that 'sell' often reappear as if by magic!

really? Its 15k, has a turbo and Porsche badge on it!!?? Sounds like more fun than the casino to me

True true ..... I have one and its lots of fun ....

but this one looks tired and in need of work ... and when a 924T needs work, it doesn't come easy or cheap ...

Buy, drive and enjoy .... but the buy-in price has got to be relative to the condition of the car and I personally think it is over priced for the condition it's in and the work that needs doing ....

all the private for sale turbos were sold last year and back on market with aspirational sellers.same cars were all to be bought sub 20k .

i think Gosford car is a 10k car irrespective of current condition

944 skips about and feels light , 928 doesn't. Both leave you without sphincter cramp , unlike the old 911s. So if a relaxed sphincter is important to you , a 944 , 928 and a 924 all fit the bill under the prescribed conditions!

Pretty sure everything remotely considered as a classic is escalating in price nowadays. And here I could have bought a half decent running and rego'd white 924 for $900 just 2 years ago! :(
