It goes without saying that beer or wine would be involved. Brian in buddina

James P Posted 27September, 2016 Report Share Posted 27September, 2016 Any progress on this car, interested to know what it was like. The car is very good... Body is as good as it gets for its age same on the interior all good for age. Mechanicals seem very good & it pulls nicely, may need some new shock absorbers but no big deal... James P Posted 6October, 2016 Report Share Posted 6October, 2016 When i looked at it the seller asked my opinion on the price... my answer was i think its worth $20k & if you get an offer above that you should take it.He was saying $25k is what I'm after so ill jack up the price to get my $25k in the end, my reply was i think you will be keeping it for a long time if you do that... & here we are
JLD Posted 6October, 2016 Report Share Posted 6October, 2016 How long ago did you look at it?i think a narrower market being a left hooker means don't be greedy and take the first decent offer. Over $20k is a good deal for the seller IMO
OzJustin Posted 6October, 2016 Report Share Posted 6October, 2016 I was also surprised to see the price rise on this car. The reality is a LHD is nowhere near as desirable as a RHD in the Australian market. I remember seeing LHD turbos going for $12k a few years back. Good luck to the seller but I think he'll be waiting a while.
cyberpunky Posted 6October, 2016 Report Share Posted 6October, 2016 sounds like he only has it to flip and make a profit. IMO anyone who pays his price is paying way over the odds.It may or may not be a great car but he is asking almost Aussie delivered price for an import. It probably is an 87 as he lists ABS (87's were never sold here, so we didn't see ABS till the 88 model))Pluses are LSD, sunroof delete, although he is incorrect that sunroof delete gives it a *stiffer chassis*. It does reduce weight and give higher head clearance, etc, but sunroof models have extra reinforcement that actually makes them have a *stiffer chassis*. A poorly maintained sunroof model can have issues but it isn't a problem if looked after. Mine is a sunroof delete and I prefer that but only because I don't like sunroofs and that it makes it a much rarer aussie delivered carGood luck to the seller but I think he is dreaming. Maybe he is being being coerced into advertising it and has high price to fool the wife/partner into thinking he is trying to get rid of it, when he really wants to keep it lol
James P Posted 6October, 2016 Report Share Posted 6October, 2016 I looked at the car 2 weeks ago for brian in buddina, seller is dreaming with his price rise to $27,
TINGY Posted 8October, 2016 Report Share Posted 8October, 2016 The market speaks, this will be for sale for a while yet unless someone gets desperate for a turbo, price up on a left hooker, dreaming.
