Porsche leather colours

Hey all. I'm looking to replace a few tired leather parts on my 1990 964 C2 and have a question about interior leather colour codes. Porsche's black leather colour code pre-1991 was KZ2, however this changed to 8YR from 1991 onwards (see pic). Many replacement parts are no longer available in KZ2 but are available in 8YR. Is there a noticable difference in the two, or is it just a change in naming convention?
