Red Panda Posted 13March Report Share Posted 13March hi folks, i'm hoping someone here has encountered a similar problem to help with a diagnosis and correspondingly a plan to go forward. I have a 1989 2,7 944 automatic. All has been running fine in its sluggish automatic way until the weekend just passed. When out on a club drive this weekend (one hot day 35C, wished the aircon worked) the transmission started feeling very rough and is stuck in 1st. It has the sensation that something is binding up inside the box , it will move reluctantly but wont change up. I parked up as soon as i could and the RACV returned it home. I also think that i lost my speedo at the same time, some i'm wondering if the drive for that has broken causing the issue. Has anyone encountered something like this before ?
