Radio Codes and where to get them?

Hi all,

I am on the hunt for an original radio for my car.  I have noticed plenty of options for purchase, however - I also have noticed that one requires a 'code' for the radio of choice.

 

Whilst some people sell the code with the radio, most do not.  I also see that there are one or two places online offering codes for 'becker' radios - but not the porsche ones (that I can find anyway).

 

So, my question is - does anyone know an establishment (or person)  - preferably in Australia that is able to obtain codes for old Porsche radios?  I am sure that the factory built in some sort of 'failsafe' in case someone lost their code.  I know (from my research) that this service was available through Porsche dealers - however, you had to provide your Car VIN - which is not much use if you don't know what car they came out of.
