HECTOR Posted 30October, 2011 Report Share Posted 30October, 2011 Hi everyone, I was just interested to find out if anyone would know the approximate cost to purchase, install and repaint a C2 turbo body kit (metal) to a 1985 911 carrara targa.I guess there would be an additional cost for rims and tyres to suit.Ball park figure would be good.Im not sure if it makes a difference in cost if the front guardes are just replaced rather than welding on the flares. Has anyone on this forum done this conversion? thanks for any comments. Phil
Guest vas930 Posted 30October, 2011 Report Share Posted 30October, 2011 About $10000. You will need the front guards. For a good job you then need to paint the whole car. For a good job all up. 15 to 20 Gs.
HECTOR Posted 18March, 2012 Author Report Share Posted 18March, 2012 With fitting the rear flairs I asume the gaurds are cut and the flairs are welded on and bogged up then sprayed and also would think it is easier to buy the front gaurds and I guess the rest of the kit is just bolted on.So correct me if im wrong the hardest part of the process is the rear gaurds. Guest vas930 Posted 18March, 2012 Report Share Posted 18March, 2012 Honestly, Hector. To do this conversion well is going to cost over 10k. It will also devalue your car by as much as 50%. I love the C2 turbo look. However, I would think about just buying another car than cutting up your 3.2. A few cheap cars for sale with this conversion done. Better to pick up the conversion in the price. By this I mean the cars that have this conversion have lost value. They are hard to sell and for that reason cheap. You will see a few cheap 930 for sale with this conversion. I would look at something like that, or a 3.2 if thats what you like. You will get a good price for your car. I see from your other thread you are looking for more power. Have a good think about a cheap 930. You can buy a cheap one with the conversion as I said. + you get your power fix. Good luck

matara Posted 30March, 2012 Report Share Posted 30March, 2012 Whilst I love the look of C2's I'm not a fan of making a older car look newer, each model looks good in its own right. If you were so inclined, this one shows you what happens with values when you do this:- http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/lakemba/cars/porsche-911-c2-unfinished-needs-interior-only-must-sell-/353036708
