911_sporto Posted 9November, 2016 Report Share Posted 9November, 2016 Since I have been supplying new diaphragms I have come across a few vacuum control valves that have had their Flyback diodes inexplicably removed.These diodes are located at the top end of the solenoid, between the 2 spade connectors. They stop the gearshift microswitch contacts prematurely burning out due to arcing. (From the collapsing field from the solenoid coil.) If you are getting any more than a tiny flash at your micro-swich, then this is probably the culprit. They should look like this-- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
