bumble Posted 13August, 2018 Report Share Posted 13August, 2018 Looking for real world experience of ignition timings for AC engines such as: Common range of static advance settings; RPM at which dynamic advance begins; RPM and max degrees at which advance ends. All things being equal, a single plug engine will need more advance than a twin plug so am interested in what max advance people have experienced on SP engines. I saw figures of 8deg static, ramp begins at 1400rpm, ends at 3200rpm/27deg published by John Olsen as fairly common but am interested in people's real-world experiences with different A/C engines. Also, how quickly do you think an A/C engine (even with a light flywheel) could accelerate from idle to max rpm under no load? TIA Mark
