Hamilton's Clubman ?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

This is definitely 'Not Porsche' but related to the man behind Porsche in Australia for many years.

I have heard that Alan Hamilton had or has a Farrell Clubman ? There are two different stories about this car. One is that it is brand new, never used or put together, the other is that it was used and now pulled apart.  I am looking to purchase one of these cars and was given this lead.

The address and phone no I was given to contact him on in Mitcham seems to be incorrect or possibly he has moved.  The whitepages lists him as possibly being in Dromana ?

So I was hoping someone here on the Porsche forum may have some more information, can confirm or deny the existence of such car or have some details on how I can contact Alan Hamilton.  Please post a reply or PM me if you can help.

Cheers,

Andrew

That car we talked about was an open wheel car.

The car you speak of was after that.

I don't know much about the clubman as it was along time ago.

However, I have seen a pic, I think it was in AutoAction not long ago.

If you send Auto action a msg, they may be of some help.

If you do talk to Alan, can you please ask him what the Porsche engine was he had in the open wheel car.

Please let us know how you go.

We love this stuff.  :)

Mods, can we please move this to the Porsche History in Australia section.

I know its not a porsche, but it has Porsche content.

It also shares info with the Alan Hamilton thread

I have a feeling it may be a good one.  :)

Well I finally tracked down Alan and yes he does have a Farrell Clubman which he is rebuilding in between other projects and no he doesn't want to sell it.

So the mystery is solved.

Never got onto Auto Action but if anyone has a pic please post it.

Vas, asked Alan about the Hillclimb special engine, while he couldn't remember exactly, he thinks it had a 9083 engine in it.

Cheers,

Andrew

Great news that you found it.

Sorry he is not selling.  :(

And yes it was a 908 engine.

Now I can put the memory and this info together.

It was a 908.

This has been driving me crazy.

Thank you so much.  :)

Please let us know what you end up getting or building.

Mods !  Can we please move this to the Porsche History in Australia Section.
