TDW911 Posted 25January, 2023 Report Share Posted 25January, 2023 I have a complete 4R/5R cased engine for sale out of my 911. I have almost completed a 3.0 lite ITB/Motec install and this engine is surplus to my needs. From my research it is out of a 1973 911S Targa ROW so possibly Australian delivered. Engine number is *6321504* and was originally a 2.4 litre. From my records and speaking to the previous owner, the original 2.7 for my car pulled some head studs and was disassembled and repaired. The repair was poorly done and the head studs pulled again causing irreparable damage and the original 7R case was discarded. A used 4R/5R 2.4 case was sourced from Bob Whyms Automotive. He professionally installed Timeserts and prepared the case to accept 2.7 barrels. The engine was rebuilt using the original 2.7 internals, heads and CIS injection. This was all completed in June 2000 and has done about 40,000km since. Receipts for engine rebuild are available. This is the engine that is for sale. I have videos with a cold start (4 weeks not used) and also running warm. It on occasion, if I just shut it down without idling for a minute and upon a restart, it will have a puff of smoke. It pulls super hard and is extremely reliable. It is a great little engine. I adjusted the valve clearance about a year ago and check the head stud torques and they were perfect. It has new plugs, points, Clewett spark plug leads, turbo valve covers, upgraded hydraulic tensioners. It is essentially a bolt up and turn key, with the exception on the fan and housing which I will need for my new install.
