Hi All,

Our fellow PFA member Ulala asked me to make a post for this upcoming Rally.

Looks like a great way to make the transition between track sprints and Targa Tasmania, which lets face it, we all think we'll have a go at one day!

So, who's up for it?!

2010 FIGJAM RALLY

September 18 - 19

Mixing the thrill of competition with the fun of open-road driving, the 2010 Figjam Rally guarantees a full weekend of four-wheeled thrills for any motoring enthusiast.

Brought to you by Mountain Motorsports, the national authority in navigational road events, the Figjam Rally follows the success of the recent San Remo Rally in offering car owners the chance to test their metal in circuit-based autotests and through road-based point-to-point navigation.

Based in Bendigo through the weekend of September 18 – 19, the rally covers around 500kms of roads and approximately 20 driving tests repeated over the two-day duration.

Competitors tour via navigation to the DECA driver training centre in Shepparton and stock up on lunch before an afternoon of autotests on the track and skidpan for both driver and co-driver.

The field then moves to the Cellar 47 restaurant before a night navigation back to the bar in Bendigo for a few social drinks.

Sunday will see competitors start with a navigation to lunch, where more autotests await before a final short liason to the official trophy presentation and celebrations.

You do not need to have navigated or driven on tracks before, and a roll-caged rally car is not required.

Just $750.00 allows both driver and navigator entry into the event, and it includes meals, maps and route instructions, event insurance and trophies.

An Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA) club licence is all that’s required by both driver and navigator, and they can be purchased for $50 on arrival.

This is a great opportunity for first-timers to come away for the weekend and mingle with like-minded people while ‘having a crack’ in a safe environment.

For those that want an even more relaxed weekend with the thrill of the driving tests, the Figjam Rally introduces a new Touring section, which includes all meals and the autotests, but without the need to calculate the route and navigate. Instead, Touring competitors will drive a predetermined mapped route to each of the events and functions, providing a great first-timers introduction to the world of road rally, or for those wanting a more relaxed experience.

Just bring your sense of adventure and be ready for lots of fun, as socialising is a large component of our events.

Don’t miss out on all the fun – get your entry in for the 2010 FIGJAM Rally.....
