996 GT3 Posted 14August, 2013 Report Share Posted 14August, 2013 want to update those ugly orange indicator/turning lenses on a 1998 car's headlights - to the clear version. Apart from the obvious - spend the $'s to buy clear ones! - are there alternatives? Some I've seen: 1 - paint over using "VHT Nightshades" or similar - but wonder re legality etc? 2- cover bottom of lenses (the orange indicator part) with film/trims & install replacement indicators in the bumper below - as per 997 look other ideas? - I'm sure this has been done before - but no luck looking in forums. thank you
Russ Posted 14August, 2013 Report Share Posted 14August, 2013 the headlights are a sealed unit aren't they? so apart from the options you've outlined I don't know what else you can do

Russ Posted 14August, 2013 Report Share Posted 14August, 2013 I guess you could cut them open and change them - but you'll never get them to seal properly again (and the humidity will craze them from the inside)
