Instead of cutting any wiring, I made some small adapters that plug into the existing wiring in the car. They fit in the holes and use the existing screw holes. They didn't come with grilles, so you have to use the existing grilles which kinda fit... I ended up getting my old ones repaired for originality sake so even though the new ones sound heaps better, I'm not going to use them. I think I paid $80 but I am open to offers.
