Advices on Warranty on Used Boxster

Hi,

I am new to this forum and will be owning my first Porsche in the next few days!!

I have paid a deposit for a 2004 Boxster S 3.2 Manual at a dealer but is not from Porsche Melbourne center.

The drive I had with this machine is truely amazing! The deep explosive sound that came out from the twin exhaust especially when accelerating is music to my ears. The handling is superb as well.

I need advices from you guys regarding 2 areas.

1. Should I get a pre purchase inspection done on it as the dealer said that they had it done not long ago. If need be, which company should I get it done? Or Can I get it checked at Porsche Centre Melbourne? Is it more reliable and How much would that be?

2. I am looking for a used car warranty for this Porsche as for at least 5 years. Does anybody knows which company out there provide a good comprehensive plan?

Any advices will be greatly appreciated.

:D:D

Hi,

Congrats for the purchase. I still remember the night before I pick up my car, I can't event sleep. :)

Regarding the PPI, if the dealer advised it has been done. Can they show you the report? Unless you bought the car from the dealer also independent porsche specialist. It would be good to know. I am not sure does PCM offer or not.

But there are quite a few porsche independent specialist in Melbourne offer PPI. Example, Weltmeister, Auto Arts, Nine Plus....... Personally I dealt with Weltmesiter for few years now. They pretty good.

With used car warranty, I don't have much experience. But perhaps its worth to check this one out,

http://www.porsche.com/australia/pre-ownedcars/porscheapproved/

I think it give you 12 months warranty with Porsche. But mighty be expansive.

Hope it help ..........

And again, welcome to the Porsche Family and congrats with the purchase. Remember to show us the PICs.

Cheers,

David

Hi David,

Thank you for your welcome and sharing, really appreciate it.

I will be looking to get the Porsche inspected at Nine Plus to get a peace of mind.
