Because 911 engines run relatively high oil pressure and much higher volume flow than most engines they MUST use the correct filter for the engine. i had heard of them blowing oil filters apart in the pas, but never seen it, until the other day. A very common brand filter had been fitted to a car because it screwed on. What happened next is the internals collapsed closing off the inside of the filter see photo. looking into the filter you can see the distorted internals. if you look into the small holes around the filter you will see the damage internally!!
