TwoHeadsTas Posted 22December, 2016 Report Share Posted 22December, 2016 Our car had the "Engine fault, visit workshop" light come on yesterday. As dealer is a 2 1/2hr drive away we took it into a local top level workshop who read the following fault codes: P0491 Stored - Secondary Air System / Bank 1P0492 Stored - Secondary Air System / Bank 2P0491 Sporadic - Secondary Air System / Bank 1P0492 Sporadic - Secondary Air System / Bank 2 It was suggested the fault may be with an air pump which pumps additional air into exhaust system for emission reasons. Anyone else with experience or comment on this? Expensive fix? Better fixed by the Dealer or well within capacity of a workshop with a bit of nouse and parts from Just James? Anyone???? (And Merry Christmas to all) Peter In Tassie

TwoHeadsTas Posted 5January, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 5January, 2017 Thanks Mike, and apologies for the delay in thanking you :-) Have been away over Christmas, and wife hasn't been driving the 987 much, but the light came back on again today.Assuming it is the same fault, and the common cause seems to be the Vacuum lines (per the Rennlist postings) is there any potential for significant damage to the engine if we continue to drive as is for a couple of weeks? Our nearest P Dealer is a 2 1/2 hr drive, although I may use a very good local workshop thanks Peter
