AAAC Posted 12April, 2012 Report Share Posted 12April, 2012 I read on a forum somewhere that the 987.1 Cayman can be programmed to open the side windows when the hatch is opened. This makes closure easier. Does anybody know if this can be programmed on my 987.2 2011 Cayman? My dealer says it is not possible.
JustJames Posted 13April, 2012 Report Share Posted 13April, 2012 I am told (by one of the Autohaus Hamilton technicians) that there are air release flaps in the Cayman to allow excess pressure to vent, so it should not be necessary to have the window drop re-programmed. AAAC Posted 22April, 2012 Author Report Share Posted 22April, 2012 Thanks for the reply. Without the windows open the hatch has to be pushed closed with your hand. I would prefer to close it by pushing it downwards and letting it go before it hits the latch. A large volume of air is displaced on closing the hatch and the 'flaps' are not enough. AAAC Posted 19September, 2012 Author Report Share Posted 19September, 2012 I recently had the Porsche Tequipment Sport Plus retroft added to my Cayman 987.2 PDK. In my opinion it lifts the vehicle to another much sportier level. At the same I asked the technician from my local dealer to go to the door modules in their computer to enable window dropping when the tailgate is opened. It works perfectly. I use the car for my daily drive and this small feature makes the experience that little bit better.
