dahon Posted 23January, 2017 Report Share Posted 23January, 2017 So my roof lining has given up its fight against gravity and has dropped.Pretty much all of it, the only thing holding it up is the trim and the sun visors. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem on a Cayman? Mines a 2006 Cayman S.I'm thinking of redoing it myself in alcantara, this video makes it seem ok to do myself... hrmm anyone that has done it before have any tips?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZVlMKG3UKo
firstone Posted 23January, 2017 Report Share Posted 23January, 2017 Haven't seen it in a Porsche b4 but really common in other brands. I'm told it's the foam glued to the board deteriorating that lets it go. There are roof lining specialist that do these pretty cheap. Maybe cheap until you say Porsche. ? Messy job. Barks Posted 23January, 2017 Report Share Posted 23January, 2017 I have an 06 Cayman S too. Mine dropped over Xmas. I spent $25 at Spotlight on a black micro suede - exactly like alcantara. It was a pain getting the trim pieces off but it came out finally! I then pulled off the old material, cleaed up the left over foam on the card former(?) Stuck the new material on and left overnight - then simply the reverse to re-install complete with cursing and sweating! Came up a treat.
