Guest vas930 Posted 7September, 2012 Report Share Posted 7September, 2012 Looks good. No doubt they will dumb it down. http://www.v8supercars.com.au/championship/newsarticle/nissan-unveils-2013-v8-supercar-engine/tabid/70/newsid/12864/default.aspx
Airhead Posted 10September, 2012 Report Share Posted 10September, 2012 That’s gunna upset the purists. Remember when Moff had the RX7 at The Mountain? Big sign on the fence “FART - Federation Against Rotaries and Turbos.” Maybe in future it will be – PORN - Piss Off Racing Nissans
Guest vas930 Posted 10September, 2012 Report Share Posted 10September, 2012 Australian V8 fans dont like Nissan in particular. GTR
T-Man Posted 10September, 2012 Report Share Posted 10September, 2012 About time there was some more competition. This Nissan team is going to be a breath of fresh air and I really hope it puts the wind right up the Falcadores!!!!!!!!!!!!! My prediction though is that after demolishing the field for a couple of years there will be enough pressure from Ford and Holden that due to some ridiculous regulation the Nissans won't be able to run and we will be back to a two horse race! Guest vas930 Posted 10September, 2012 Report Share Posted 10September, 2012 Good point, Theo. However, I doubt they will let them dominate from the get go. And I dont think they will with only one team. If it was the Stone Bros or 888, then yes. The whole thing is a sham. Racing now is all made to be even. You can have the best car and they will slow you down. Have the worst car and they will give you a weight break or slow the good cars down. And they wonder why Merc or BMW said no. Even the name Super Cars makes my blood boil. Remember the Monaro add, it had a pic of a monaro with a pic of a Porsche GT2 in the back ground. It said " Game Over". It shows the public will buy anything. V8 Super Cars are evidence of that fact. Rant over.

Guest vas930 Posted 10September, 2012 Report Share Posted 10September, 2012 Oh, and lets not forget the 427 Monaro that won at the Bathurst 24 hour. The only rules that car met was the rules made up to make sure it won. If that does not work, just send out a "safety car" when needed. Why not, they do it at bathurst every year. Makes it look close for TV. That way the V8 boss can go around saying how close the racing is. Give me a break.
Guest vas930 Posted 10September, 2012 Report Share Posted 10September, 2012 And one last thing. At the same time Holden entered the 427monaro. Porsche sent a then GT2 for testing to enter the then Nations Cup. In a big shock, they said it was to fast ,and Porsche would need to stick with the GT3. A 400hp car, the monaro had over 550hp. The head line would read, "Holden beats the world"

I remember thinking 'how ridiculous...a Porsche that is "too fast" to race...that'd be right, a PORSCHE is too fast to RACE Mensch, die Deutschen! Airhead Posted 11September, 2012 Report Share Posted 11September, 2012 History of P racing in Aust. They (CAMS) ban them when they get too quick. That said – I’ve had a few laps in the passenger seat of that 427 Monaro. Is that car fast or what? Bloody hard work for the pilot keeping in on the black stuff though. It did not look like a nice thing to drive.
