TheBaywatchKid Posted 7March, 2021 Report Share Posted 7March, 2021 Before I bought my car I got the details from Porsche Australia just around its heritage. It's a UK delivered car. I was fixing up some wiring and noticed the steering assembly has some work done to it at some stage. Given it would have been delivered RHD, Im wondering was the car converted to LHD and then back again to RHD.? 🤯 Any other reason for the work that looks to have happened in the photos? TIA! Zelrik911 Posted 7March, 2021 Report Share Posted 7March, 2021 If you are checking a LHD to RHD conversion. have a look in frunk around the smugglers box flap and the steering column path under the back of the instruments. The welding in the photo looks like a cover, but most of it looks proper RHD to me. If its a UK car could be just some amateurish rust repair work ???? Coastr Posted 7March, 2021 Report Share Posted 7March, 2021 Highly unlikely for any Porsche to be converted to LHD, as those are so plentiful. More likely repair work of some kind, or even sloppy factory welding TheBaywatchKid
TheBaywatchKid Posted 7March, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 7March, 2021 Thanks @Zelrik911 and @Coastr, thanks and I appreciate the detail! I was wondering why anyone would have switched. Will keep digging to see. Maybe was just repair work, or some work done to make space for something else!
