targarama Posted 21August, 2023 Report Share Posted 21August, 2023 Evening all, I'm in the process of researching some parts to go into my wife's 996. Have purchased some coil overs and having some professional help with working out spring rates to provide a close to factory outcome, slightly lowered with spacers. On the topic of top mounts my mechanic has suggested Elephant Racing units. He mentioned that I should go for the units that are still rubber but in between the original replacements and the solid units. Looking at their site, it just seems that they have either direct replacements of the originals or an adjustable 'quickchange' unit. Would be very grateful for any suggestions or guidance from the Forum. Thanks in advance.

I did 20m ( car moved around a workshop) and got a world wide recall notice on my 996 ohlins road and track coilover kit just after they were installed. Part of the engineered solution was replacement front struts and elephant racing front top strut mounts.
911CSR Posted 21August, 2023 Report Share Posted 21August, 2023 Agree 100%. I have mostly Elephant Racing parts on my 996 including the strut tops and have never had an issue with any of their parts.

The recall was back in Dec 2020 and only on 996 turbo and c4s kits.
