Russ Posted 7July, 2013 Report Share Posted 7July, 2013 Hi everyone I've got a small super cheap compressor that I got second hand, but it had a broken regulator. it now has a new regulator but I have no idea how to make it all work (I'm a bit worried when the main gauge heads up into the red - I don't want exploding air tanks) anyone in the Brisbane area able to come have a look that's handy with compressors over a drink? Or anyone got any pointers?

Pauly Posted 7July, 2013 Report Share Posted 7July, 2013 Those super cheap compressors are junk. But if you open the regulator, there should be a screw. That screw will adjust your pressure switch. IICR counter clockwise it'll decrease the pressure. Turn it on, if it gets to 130 psi and doesn't shut off. turn it off and drain the tank and try screwing the screw one way. if it doesn't work try the other way. Depends on the compressor, but most are at 120-125 psi.

Pauly Posted 8July, 2013 Report Share Posted 8July, 2013 I wouldn't complain if it's free. But i wouldn't recommend someone buying one. I hope the OP sorted the pressure switch issue
