Tit Posted 26December, 2013 Report Share Posted 26December, 2013 Canberra can't offer the likes of Tassie or Putty Road, but we do have some good punting roads to the west of town. This is my regular route (went out today, actually). Covers: Coppins Crossing Road Cotter Road Brindabella Road Paddys River Road Tidbinbilla Road Point Hutt Road You can take them in any sequence. I usually enter either from Coppins Crossing Road, Western Creek or down near Gordon. Like all good roads, watch out for motorbikes and cyclists...you occasionally see police out there, but they are generally reasonable. Some sections also have meandering family cars due to the bbq and swimming areas. If any of you are readers of www.ausmotive.com you'll notice that most of the 'drive through' test drives are conducted on Brindabella Road... http://www.ausmotive.com/category/reviews/drive-thru A few cars Ausmotive has tested out there (I often go out with the owner of Ausmotive to help out).. (that may or may not be me driving... ) This one too...
MB911 Posted 26December, 2013 Report Share Posted 26December, 2013 Nice. Yeah I frequently ran those roads on my Hayabusa before I sold it earlier this year. There are a couple of good roads across the border on the way to Murrumbateman. The best ride I ever did and you could easily drive it, was: Hume Highway from Canberra to Suttons Forrest Down into Kangaroo valley Turn right onto the highway that leads to Batemans bay (Princess highway maybe?) Follow that to just before the bay, turn off up to the Clyde Mountain Clyde to Bungendore, left at Bungendore to Queanbeyan, After Queanbeyan turn onto Sutton Road follow that to Hume Highway, then home to Gungahlin. About 6 hours (at light speed), probably a little more with lunch etc.
Tit Posted 26December, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 26December, 2013 Yeah. Clyde's a classic too. Should make a thread for that as well as some of the Snowy Mountain's runs... Hey - did I see you out front Rolfe Classic just over a week ago with your bonnet and boot open?

My everyday car is a Rodeo dual cab ute, but the plate will give it away if I'm in that We should get some runs in the new year with the Kollectiv.
