webrest Posted 15June, 2014 Report Share Posted 15June, 2014 Boy wouldn't you love a gearbox like this with such linear ratios. Have been watching Audis coverage and took some readings of speeds in gears off their telemetry shown on computer screen and came up with this very rough graph. I imagine that all the the runners with variable ratio boxes are using similar magic boxes Readings taken and speeds in gears at 4300 RPM calculated. I guess I'm not accurate but I'm somewhere in the ballpark. There is hardy any drop Just think you could drive to Sydney in first gear and still get booked for speeding on the Hume. 1 gear 27.9 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 120 K's 2 " 33.3 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 143 K's 3 " 39.7 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 170 K's 4 " 47.7 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 205 K's 5 " 57.1 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 245 K's 6 " 64.5 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 275 K's 7 " 80.6 km/ 1000 RPM @ 4300 RPM 346 K's
