tazzieman Posted 14June, 2016 Report Share Posted 14June, 2016 Not unfamiliar with servicing/replenishing the various brake components on each of the P cars , I've done a spot of brake work recently ; e.g. rehoned and resealed the MC in the old Landy (saved $40 but well , sometimes it's about the satisfaction of repair as opposed to replacement). Nothing beats the feeling of a firm brake pedal in an old Series Landy. They do stop on a dime if everything is in order. A large dime perhaps, and your passenger better have their seatbelt on.Also have unstuck and resealed pistons in all 4 corners in one of the old Benzes , plus a master cylinder overhaul. Used some bits off the donor Benz as sometimes stuff breaks when you remove it!A vac pump obviously makes life easier and having the suitable spanners for hard lines is pretty important (though you sometimes have to get inventive if someone has been in there before). Now and again you find superb online tutorials ; this is one of them. Talking to Jesus is optional, but sometimes you have to invoke the great mechanic himself. Rob Posted 14June, 2016 Report Share Posted 14June, 2016 What a patient guy to include all that detail, thanks for putting that up, Tazzie - I watched the whole thing, including the Jesus commercial at the end.
