Stew F Posted 2July, 2016 Report Share Posted 2July, 2016 I've got one of those Piranha (sp ) upholstery steam cleaner thingies, which does a fair job on my curtains and sofas, and I was thinking about cleaning my hoodlining with it. Has anyone else here done this kind of thing? How did it go? My hoodlining is the perforated off white coloured one. In an SC.
Tips Posted 2July, 2016 Report Share Posted 2July, 2016 Stew not sure if or what backing yours has under the perf but I did a steam cleaner on a more modern car (non P) which was a hard shell style liner with a velour finish and it was enough to delaminate the fabric from the backing board. Be careful how much heat and dampness it puts through the perf if you do.
Stew F Posted 2July, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 2July, 2016 Thanks for the tip Tips. That's tops. I'll have to check out if it has a backing layer. It has a couple of small grease stains near the sunroof, and it's a bit discoulored from age i suppose. It's generally pretty good though. Just a bit grubby.
