Car: 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera S

Service: Stage 2 Paint Correction & Tail Pipe Polish

Comments:

- Even though the car did seem fairly clean, an up close inspection revealed that it was covered in swirls and light to medium scratches all round.

- Plenty of stone chips on the front (can't get rid of those) but otherwise fairly happy with the result. So was the owner ;)

- Black paint now is like a mirror and feels a lot smoother too.

Check out the before & after photos.

Apologies for the after photos (overcast weather didn't do the detail or car any justice)

After - Imperfections removed and deep gloss finish

Thanks Douglas.

A machine buffer was used to remove swirls and the light-medium scratches.

Yes, the buffer with polish will remove a tiny percentage of clear coat although it does depend on how bad/deep the scratch is. In this case, it was very minuscule. We apply wax to the car too which protects and enhances gloss. This is finished off with a paint sealant to provide a shield like layer on the top of the paint. This is the stuff that beads water and resists dirt and other contamination.

In terms of how often, it depends on the car's paint and condition. Given that the car is detailed now, it is very important to maintain the car using the correct methods of washing and drying to prevent further damage (swirls/scratches, etc). Also, you need to reapply wax to sustain protection.

Here's a tip - As soon as you see any bird droppings on your car, IMMEDIATELY attend to them with a spray bottle of warm water. You don't need to wash the whole car, but just make sure they don't make their way into the clear coat, otherwise you end up with nasty etchings which are hard to remove.
