Greg944 Posted 16February, 2012 Report Share Posted 16February, 2012 Hi all, I plan to buy a 944 when I return from an Overseas deployment in 2 months. I am still mulling over the options (2.5 NA, Turbo or S2). As part of my research: Can anyone give me a ball park HP figure for the Australian 944 Challenge cars? I understand that the exact numbers may be closely guarded. I have been told that one workshop had picked up 30Kw (Flywheel or Wheel not specified) with the ECU, cam shaft etc as specified by the rules.. I have no way of verifying the claim. This information will help shape the future use of the car (toy vs. Daily) and is part of a reasonably complex Hp/cost/desire to modify the car equation. An early car modified to my ideal (colour, suspension etc) would be a toy, likely used as a Targa car, whereas a Turbo or S2 (even 968s are in the price range) would be daily drivers (assuming that I can live with one as a daily).
