Bluboy007 Posted 14November, 2016 Report Share Posted 14November, 2016 Has any imported a post 1989 Porsche. I'm looking at 993 or 964 and am getting conflicting information on wether you can import them or not. So if anyone has a RAWS contact that has imported one please let me know. ANF Posted 14November, 2016 Report Share Posted 14November, 2016 I do not think you will find one as the only Porsche cars eligible for RAWS are the 918 Spyder and the Carrera GT.http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/sevs/sevsindex.htmUntil they change the rules, which is supposedly happening sometime, the only way to import a post 1989 vehicle not on the above list is to own the vehicle for at least 12 months whilst living overseas...... SimonN Posted 14November, 2016 Report Share Posted 14November, 2016 What ANF says. If you can find another way, you will have achieved something that nobody in the trade can work out how to do and something I have spent 10 years trying to work out. At the risk of being proven wrong after all these years, I would say catagorically that you cannot bring a post 89 car into the country other than on the 12 months ownership and use rule (note - you actually have to live in the same country as the car for that 12 months!), unless it is on a temporary basis (IIRC, up to 12 months)The change in rules is slated for January 2018, but there is no guarantee it will happen or exactly what the rules will allow. Bluboy007 Posted 14November, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 14November, 2016 Thanks guys, at least it keeps the Prices up? I'll have to consider slumbing it with an Aston or Ferrari then!
