privatepang Posted 10April, 2017 Report Share Posted 10April, 2017 Curious whether anyone has had an effective way of cleaning the exterior of the mag case 915. Read up on PP that a few people have had luck using pressure washers but also a little risky with seals etc. Anyone have a good product they have used? I assume engine degreaser isnt the best thing to use
clutch-monkey Posted 10April, 2017 Report Share Posted 10April, 2017 have seen people use bbq cleaner or oven cleaner. but not 100% sure if it was on a mag case.
neill Posted 10April, 2017 Report Share Posted 10April, 2017 I used degreaser and a karcher. Came up really good. Just avoid the seal areas. Scrub them instead. It is messy, so be prepared.

No idea if it's true..
Rob Posted 10April, 2017 Report Share Posted 10April, 2017 If you're going to use oven cleaner, it is essential that you are able to remove EVERY drop. If it gets retained under bolt heads, or in crevices, it will continue to eat away the Al or Mg underneath until you have a nasty situation. I wouldn't use it, even on a fully torn-down case. Trust me, I'm a (retired) analytical chemist...
neill Posted 11April, 2017 Report Share Posted 11April, 2017 Yes just your normal everyday engine degreaser from supercheap. I ended up using 4 or 5 cans all up.
