My '91 911 Turbo 3.3

Recommended Posts

Sorry, should have said the best external mod is the muffler.

I know this as I and many others have done it.

No doubt changing the cams is a bigger improvment.

I lost about 800 rpm of lag with headers and muffler. :)

Everytime the air flow meets with resistance on the way out, it slows the turbo.

Going to a free flowing system like Jim and I have makes a big improvment in the lag.

You notice it most on the gear shifts. IMO

What system are you using Vas? I am not too sure if a 930 system would fit (it is the same motor) but at the moment It looks like I need to order something from Rarlyl8 in the US.

Yes, talk to Brian at Rarlyl8.

A 930 system wont fit.

Brian can make one for you at a great price for your car.

For the money I think they are the best, light, great power and awesome sound.

Dont get the hooligan, ask GRK 911, they are to loud.

I have the mid range sound and its just legal.

You have a choice of 3 sound levels, but they all make the same power.

If you go for headers also, as I did, let me know as i did a heap of work on it before I ordered a set.

The Rarlyl8 headers dont have heat yet, so the B&B headers are good all round with factory style heat.

Plenty of other things you can do while it is pulled down.

However, a fresh motor with a few external mods and just enjoy the car is the best overall plan.

You also have the 5 speed, so its easy to keep it on boost.

Good Luck. :)
